Boost your technology skills to build more confidence in the classroom! The San Jose City College Learning Resource Center has a Tutoring Center, Reading and Writing Center, and Computer Lab to help you succeed in the Facilities Maintenance Technology program.

Prepare & Practice for Your Career in Facilities Maintenance Tech

Your first days in class may go more smoothly with a small amount of preparation. If you need to work on your computer skills, visit the Computer Lab, also located in the Learning Resource Center, where students can sign up to use one of the 100 computers available. The CalWomenTech Learning Library also has software to help you build your skills in spatial reasoning (the ability to see things in three dimensions), problem solving, math and more! You can browse to see what might be of interest to you and then use the software free of charge.

Get Help From a Trained Tutor

The San Jose City College Tutoring Center provides free peer tutoring from trained student tutors on a drop-in basis for math, science, accounting, and other classes. You must be referred by the instructor of the class for which you are seeking tutoring. The Reading and Writing Center also has one-on-one help with reading and writing assignments for any course. Students must be enrolled in Learning Skills Supervised Tutoring (LS210) or a reading or English lab to obtain tutoring at the Reading and Writing Center.
